  • Use our Drift mobile application (the “App”)

2.1 Website Information

Information You Provide:

  • Email subscription: When you sign up for our mailing list, we collect your email address, name (if provided), and the source of your signup (e.g., which page or form you used). This information is collected and stored via Loops.so, our email service provider.

  • Purchase information: When you make a purchase, Shopify (our e-commerce platform) collects your name, billing address, shipping address, email address, phone number, and payment information. We do not directly store or process payment card details—this is handled securely by Shopify’s payment processors.


Automatically Collected Information:

  • Usage data: We may collect information about how you access and use our Website, including your IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, time spent on pages, and referring website.

  • Cookies: We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to enhance your browsing experience. You can control cookie preferences through your browser settings.


2.2 App Information

Information You Provide:

  • NFC tag configuration: When you register a Drift block, we store the NFC tag ID locally on your device to identify which preset to trigger.

  • Focus presets: Custom preset names, emojis, and app selections you configure are stored locally on your device.

  • Drift labels: Custom names you assign to your Drift blocks are stored locally.


Automatically Collected Information:

  • Focus session data: We collect and store focus session data locally on your device, including:

    • Session start and end times

    • Session duration

    • Preset used

    • Apps blocked during sessions


  • Analytics data: Daily statistics, streak information, and session counts are calculated and stored locally on your device.


Information We Do NOT Collect:

  • We do not collect, transmit, or store any personally identifiable information from the App on our servers.

  • We do not track your location.

  • We do not access your contacts, photos, or other personal files.

  • We do not monitor or collect data about which specific apps you use outside of focus sessions.


2.3 Screen Time API

The App uses Apple’s Screen Time API to block apps during focus sessions. This API:

  • Requires your explicit authorization

  • Does not transmit app usage data to us

  • Operates entirely within Apple’s privacy framework

  • Can be revoked at any time through iOS Settings



3. How We Use Your Information

3.1 Website

We use the information collected through our Website to:

  • Process orders: Fulfill purchases, manage payments, arrange shipping, and provide customer support (via Shopify)

  • Send marketing communications: Send you emails about new products, promotions, or updates if you’ve subscribed to our mailing list (via Loops.so)

  • Improve our Website: Analyze usage patterns to enhance user experience and functionality

  • Comply with legal obligations: Respond to legal requests and prevent fraud


3.2 App

We use the information collected through our App to:

  • Provide core functionality: Enable NFC-triggered app blocking and focus sessions

All App data is stored locally on your device using iOS’s UserDefaults and App Groups. We do not transmit this data to our servers.


4. Data Sharing and Third-Party Services

4.1 Third-Party Service Providers

We share information with the following third-party service providers who help us operate our business:

Shopify (E-commerce Platform):

  • Purpose: Order processing, payment handling, shipping, and customer account management

  • Data shared: Name, email, shipping/billing address, phone number, order details, payment information


Loops.so (Email Marketing):

  • Purpose: Managing our mailing list and sending marketing emails

  • Data shared: Email address, name (if provided), signup source


These service providers are contractually obligated to protect your data and use it only for the purposes we specify.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes.


4.3 Legal Compliance

5.1 Website Data

  • Purchase and account data is stored securely by Shopify on servers located in Canada and the United States.

  • Email list data is stored by Loops.so in accordance with their privacy practices.

5.2 App Data

  • All App data is stored locally on your device using iOS’s secure storage mechanisms (UserDefaults, App Groups).

  • Data is protected by your device’s passcode and biometric authentication (if enabled).

  • We do not transmit or store App data on external servers.

  • If you delete the App, all locally stored data is permanently removed from your device.


5.3 Data Retention

  • Website: Purchase records are retained in accordance with legal and tax requirements (typically 7 years). Marketing data is retained until you unsubscribe.

  • App: Data is retained locally on your device until you delete the App or manually reset your data within the App.


6. Your Rights and Choices

  • Revoke Screen Time permission: Go to iOS Settings > Screen Time > [Your Name] and remove authorization for Drift

  • Delete all data: Uninstall the App from your device

7. International Data Transfers

Our service providers (Shopify, Loops.so) may process data outside your country of residence. By using our services, you consent to the transfer of your data to countries that may have different data protection laws than your jurisdiction.

  • Privacy Shield frameworks (where applicable)

Our Website and App are not directed to children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
